UCF: Empowering Equity

We're all moving and growing and learning. Making efforts to provide accommodations for those who move, grow, and learn at different paces and in different ways is a goal of the University of Central Florida. I designed and submitted a poster in their contest to visually represent the term, "Empowering Equity." My poster can be found in the UCF library this fall during Diversity Week. From the UCF website: "This year’s theme, UCF: Empowering Equity highlights that equity should be our ultimate goal for our students, faculty and staff. Equity goes beyond equality and is an essential element of our mission. An equitable campus recognizes that our diverse identities and life experiences require unique paths to equality."

I ended up with a concept that was separate from the first round of sketches. With this idea, I hopped over into the digital realm to create it fully, in design and color.

The arrows represent different people, each with different colors and patterns. Their lives (paths of the arrows) are individual and unique, but they are all pointing to and heading in the same direction: upwards.

All moving, all growing, and all learning. At different paces, from different backgrounds, and differences as individuals, but growing and equal nonetheless.
